Something new I’m going to start is to feature another writer I enjoy. It won’t necessarily be a detailed review or even fantasy, but to be a writer, you must be a reader, and there are so many books out there that deserve recognition, especially those written by Indie Authors, a quickly growing segment of the book-publishing market. As I come across some outstanding books and their authors, I will share them with you on occasion. If you expect consistency, you clearly haven’t met me. And in the nature of defying convention, I propose good writing was around long before algorithms.
Today I’m featuring author Andi Cumbo-Floyd and her book The Shadow The Secret The Shame, a prequel to the Magic People Series. I so admire authors who can write from the viewpoint of a child successfully, and Andi is one of those gifted authors who does it masterfully.
I am becoming more and more attracted to magical realism, and think I am going to take a stab at it as soon as I launch the third and final book in the Tales of Merth Series, Return to Merth. I don’t have a sales page for it as yet, as I am still waiting on the very talented Teressa Pellechio DeVito to finish the cover.
In The Shadow The Secret The Shame, we are introduced to young Jedidiah when he first discovers his gift to see things other people don’t, like the shadow that is following his pastor. How he navigates his complicated situation with the help of his imaginary friend, Mavis will spark a glimmer of connection with anyone who has ever been a child.
I hope you will check out this book and others by author Andi Cumbo-Floyd.
